Why would God Fearing religions kill in this life and expect to receive redemption in the next?

The issue is really the purpose behind the killing. Is it killing to get rid of injustice and oppression, or is it meaningless killing or killing based upon blind assumptions?

If its the first case, then killing is perfectly justified.

Even God fearing people are still sinful. I am a Christian and I'll be the first to admit that I sin. I don't kill people, but if people were delusioned into thinking they were supposed to...

I don't know. It's messed up. they just think they can get away with it. If their religion is accurate, they will be forgiven, but there will be a punishment sometime in this life.

People have killed in the name of religion since the beginning of time and they will continue to do so until they wake up and realize that religion is just a way for the weak minded to cope with there meaningless lives!!

I hope that I don't offend, because I know that christianity has done it for centuries, but that's exactly what I would like to ask people like Al-Zarqawi (the now deceased muslim crusader/terrorist who apparently believes that Allah wants all Americans dead, what a thought though huh...?). I don't see how you can expect to do that either, so sorry I didn't give a logical or theological answer to your question....

They believe that it is God who instructs them to kill, they probably think that they are exempted from punishment because the orders came from their god.
