Jesus is God
1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Because the name is Jesus is exalted above every name. Even the names of God from the Old Testament. If you study the names of God in the Old Testament then you will see they are more than names but provision for the Children of Israel. Jesus just simplified that provision by providing for everything. "Therefore God exalted Him [Jesus] to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11"
Also, Jesus is more than a man, He was God in the flesh. Without Him (Jesus) being in the flesh we (Christians) could never do the miracles, signs and wonders that He did.

The idea is that Jesus IS God, and by the Bible's teachings, God the Father gave Jesus the right to be praised.

Jesus is not and never did claim to be Almighty God. God's name is Jehovah(Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, Exodus 6:3, Isaiah 26:4) and his Son's name is Jesus. The Hebrew form of the name Jesus means "Jehovah is Salvation". Also Jesus was the first angel God created (Revelations 3:14: "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God"
Colossians 1:14,15: "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature."
Many saw Jesus while he was on earth but" No man hath seen God at any time--"( John 1:18)
Jesus does not know when the day of judgement will be.Matthew 24:36 tells us: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." If he were God,he would no that.
Jesus acknowledged that he was not equal to God at John 14:28: "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."

God the Father, Son & HOly Spirit are equal in majesty, we praise them all...the difference is that because most non-christian religions have gods, or even the Jews worshipping God the Father. As Christians, our salvation is because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (hence the name Christian)
God the Father created us & everything in the world.
God the Son, Jesus Christ saves everyone who doesn't reject Him.
God the Holy Spirit protects, guides, comforts & sustains all believers

God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are ONE. So you see, God is mentioned quite often. Below are a few references to the concept of Trinity in the Bible and elsewhere

God is the Father. HE sent HIS son Jesus. We thank God for Jesus. We praise God by praising Jesus. Read the Bible the truth is there. We are not ignoring or not praising God. We honor and adore HiM ... we do praise God through obeying HIS commandments.

I believe your statement and question are incorrect. Personally, I worship my Heavenly Father God, my Lord Jesus Christ, and am thankful for the leading of the Holy Spirit. All are equally God.
The reason why you may hear Jesus' name being used more is because the generic term "God" is used for most religions' god. To equate Jesus with God is to set Him apart from other "saviors" on the earth. It is the hallmark of the Christian faith - God reaching down to humankind through Jesus Christ (as opposed to other religions where humankind attempts to reach up to God).

Exactly even if they use the trinity as an excuse to worship Jesus as god tey are still leaving out the Father and the holy Spirit. According to the Trinity they are coequal so how come they don't receive equal worship. Guess that is just another way the trinity fails.

Because people have been misguided partly I think due to satan. Look at Psalms 83:7. Yes Jesus is very important to us because we can only receive God through him. But the glory that man shows for him he does not accept look at John 5:41" I do not accept glory from men"
