I am in a wondeful relationship with a man I want to remain part of my life forever. He treats me right and we decided to move in together. I have lived with a former flame and promised never to do it again. I was much younger and am more sure about the current relationship. I am always trying to talk myself out of why we should be together and why this can't happen. But when I see him or spend time with him. I know we are meant to be. How can I stop myself from feeling inadequate to be loved by him and realize he isn't leaving?

It's always gonna be in the back of your mind. Even if he won't leave you will always have that caution flag up it's normal don't worry about it men are the same way believe it or not...If he's stayed this long than that shows he really does love you....just relax and worry about what color to paint the bedroom

If everything's so ducky, why aren't you two just getting married first? Don't you think that would be a little more convincing than trying to persuade yourself that he isn't leaving when the biggest commitment you've made to each other is a living arrangement?

I'm not necessarily suggesting you set a wedding date, and it's not that I don't think you two might stay together forever; I simply understand very well why you might not feel much security in that arrangement. I wouldn't, either; though for me it wouldn't be about feeling inadequate.

Your feelings of inadequacy could also manifest themselves in other ways if you don't come to terms with them. Please work on your trust issues, and proceed with care in your relationship, for your sake and his. Good luck.

this all depends on how long you two have been together and is he mature enough for a huge commitment twards you, your space and your habits. you also have to talk about it, because communication is key in a relationship.
