Just as with his human counterparts, excersize is always the best way to lose weight. A good weight loss regimin would enclude 40 minutes of brisk waling daily.

Mostly the same way people do - quality food in more limited quantities (or switch to a weightloss formula) and exercise.
You didn't give many details about your dog or what kind of food it is on. A dog's metabolism often slows after it is spayed/neutered, so if they have been on puppy food they are often put on adult, or if they are already on adult the quantity is cut back. If your dog is often sedentary, taking them for a daily walk or getting them to play with other dogs at a dog park is a good way to get them active. If you're dog is just plain obese but always seems hungry, cutting back on the dog food and giving them a can of green beans at mealtime can be very helpful.
If it is a sudden problem you might also check with your vet, as weight gain and inactivity can be related to various medical problems (thyroid, etc.). If your dog has allergies you should also check with your vet prior to changing its diet.
Hope that helped! :)

Gradually switch your dog to a dieted dog food. Switching the dog to a new food all at once will make them not eat the food at all, let them get used to it first. If you are feeding it table scraps stop doing that human food puts alot of weight on the dog. Maybe you could run the dog around the yard or bring it to a park. Exercise and healthier dog food is the key to having a healthy and not overweight dog.

Yes, definitely! My aunt's dog has lost a lot of weight recently. With diet foods, walks, and a little encouragement your dog can lose weight.( sounds like a cheezy commercial! XD) Although some dogs lose weight quicker than others. Hope this helped.

you should try "pedigree weight loss" food. my friend had a an 50lb. over weigh siberian husky. the vet gave her a list of food that would help her dog lose weight. she chose "pedigree weight loss" food.she lost 20lb in a month!!!the vet also said to give her less treats. he recomended breaking the treats in half so he would eat less.you should also walk him more often.at least 5 days a week. the bigger the dog the more excersice
GOOD LUCK=)

exercise and the right diet. Research the better brands of food on their nutritional values. Also consult your vet to make sure that it is just a weight issue and not an underlying disease causing problems with your dogs metabolism.
