Pretty much, yes. The dominant religions of today have been disproven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Anyone that studies science and history at all can tell you this. (Boy, that just raised the hackles on some of those Christians out there... :)
But yes, although some people attempt to spin it, or deny the facts, modern, intelligent people know that the religions which worship a "deity" are nonsense, and represent the early "science" of man, which we have long since expanded upon.
So, yes, if it wasn't for the fact that religions have a "cult of personality" about them right now, that is hard to break through, everyone would be an atheist, or agnostic, take your pick. That's not to say that we would all deny the existence of a god. But we would certainly look into all of the options, in an attempt to understand the universe rationally.
That's the problem with religion. A few thousand years ago, it was our "best guess" at the way things work. Unfortunately, certain groups of people used that "best guess" as a means of control, and they were unwilling to give up that control, no matter what. So they've kicked and fought every step of the way, as science and progress have shined the light on their primitive, inaccurate theories.
Unlike science, which improves and corrects itself every day, religion has remained stagnant and outdated, as it should be. It's just a matter of a couple more generations before we get rid of it altogether.

No. Humans have a natural curiosity about where we came from, what we are doing here, and where we go after death. Across all societies across all time periods these quetions reoccur about a high being. So, the child will be exposed to religion from other outlets (friends, media, etc) and this natural curiosity will take place. To be an atheist, usually someone needs to be exposed, even indoctrinated in religion, than make a rational decision to reject this. A child without any knowledge can't reject what he/she doens't know.

No, Thats why we have christians to spread the word of Christ, my mother didn't believe, she thought we were buried and thats it, we go to sleep. But now I am a new person, I was an alcoholic who did all the wrong things, and my life was at a stop, I found a large void and didn't know how to fill it.
Then I asked for forgiveness, and invited Jesus Christ into my life and I'm full of life that I never would of believed was there.
I know right from wrong, and that Jesus Christ is the way and the salvation, to eternal life. We don't find answers if we don't seek God, we may think we have the right ones, but they lead us down the wrong path.

Not necesarrily, they could grow up to be agnostic. Which is the belief of something or anything that can be proven. Or even if the primary care givers didn't instill religion into a child, they will still pick up on the religion that surrounds them on a daily basis.

I don't think so. Most people are intelligent enough or curious enough to seek answers. Not all come up with the same answers, but we still seek. Then there are Christians out there steadily spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Chances are, you will at some time, be told the truth. Whether you accept it or not, is your choice.

Tough question. I'm not sure. I think if you assume that the children are educated and can think for themselves, they will contemplate issues about where they came from, why they exist, and inevitably where they are going. I think most will come to the conclusion that since they cannot answer those questions, there must be someone who can. I think that's when the concept of a God or Gods comes up. They explain the unexplainable.

Everyone is born an atheist. Religion is taught through fear, intimidation, and threats. What a way to live the only life you'll ever have. What's worse, how unfathomably perverted to foist it onto others. Just shows how disgusting mankind can be.

Hmmm... I don't know about most, but I certainly think *more* would. It's much harder to accept religion when... well... when you have a brain running at it's full potential, to be honest. When you don't believe everything adults tell you anymore. A certain amount of people will always look for the "meaning" in their lives though, and turn to fantasy.

Probably not. They would develop various superstitions and answers to questions about the world around them based on thier experiances. All humans have a belief system either of thier own making or of what thier mother told them to believe.
