Do we all know what "True Happiness" is? How do You define it? Where is it for you - in a Place, a Person, a Thing or in the Spiritual arena? How long did it take you to realize you had it -- till it was too late? Do you still have it or is it gone for you?

True happiness for me is being able to worship my God on a daily basis and appreciating His grace for my imperfection. In Christ there is true happiness.

You realize and accept that there's no pure truth. Then you just live your life.

My dog is an expert at it. He knows of none of the beautiful "truths" taught by humans. Yet he is happy and healthy so far. He doesn't have to flush all the BS out of his head, like a human, because it was never absorbed in the first place. This is nature's way.

The horse dunk that people teach is only there because you can't express actual truth in society without stepping on someones toes. We wind up with a litany of "truths" that have nothing to do with reality. These may (I doubt it) make some people truly happy. If so, they've had a lot better luck with it than I have. But - I am happy.

First of all, great question. In my opinion, true happiness is different for every individual. I feel that it's something lying inside each of us. In order for me to reach my true happiness, I personally have to stay close to God and allow Him to lead me in the right direction. I find happiness in living according to this. God created us to be prosperous and happy, not to fall for those weapons of Satan that destroy us; like drugs, etc. I like this saying: Know God, Know Peace / No God, No Peace!!! Neat huh?! Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come, so I must live in just today! I try to live each day the best I can and do the next right thing. I feel true happiness when I am around my family and fiance! Also helping others makes me happy and it is a great feeling! There's probably no right or wrong answer to your question but I hope I've helped show you one way of looking at it. I wish for you TRUE HAPPINESS and I sincerely mean that!

Real Happiness and Inner Peace
Real happiness and peace can be ONLY found in submitting to the commands of the Creator and the Sustainer of this world. God has said in the Qur’an: (Truly, in remembering God do hearts find rest.)
(Qur’an, 13:28)

On the other hand, the one who turns away from the Qur’an will have a life of hardship in this world. God has said:
(But whoever turns away from the Qur’an, he will have a hard life, and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment.) (Qur’an, 20:124)
This may explain why some people commit suicide while they enjoy the material comfort money can buy. For example, look at Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), formerly a famous pop singer who used to earn sometimes more than $150,000 a night. After he converted to Islam, he found true happiness and peace, which he had not found in material success.

True happiness is found in the center of you. It is the point where you are where you want to be. Staying there may or may not require effort, depending on where there is. When you look around and realize there is no better place for you to be. It is the culmination of self acceptance and self actualization. I found this point many years ago, and through my life I have drifted from it on many occasions. Like I said, sometimes it takes effort. If effort is not given, then from that point you will drift.

A good friend of mine used to say,'To soon old, to late smart'.
Sad to say it was late in life when I realized the true meaning of happiness and contentment.
I had spent my life doing what others thought I should instead of what I wanted. i became enamored with the collection of material things.
Now at the age of 55 I have realized that my wife, my daughter and grand kids are the root of happiness.
Now I realize that doing what satisfies the inner man/woman is what is important.
Being able to look in the mirror and say I know that guy and he's alright.

I believe different people have different views on what it is to be truly happy. First of all nothing is ever perfect, you just have to enjoy yourself in today. Don't take things for granted and love the one you're with. We will have our ups and downs.... Just don't sweat the small stuff in life because I strongly believe that gets in the way of our thinking and feelings day to day. By the way "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" is a really good book. You should check it out.....it just allows you to see that the simple things in life are enjoyable.

Happiness is in the heart of a person, just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Want and longing is the key enemy of joy. Contentment with what one has is the key to happiness. If I live within my means and my desires are in my control, I will be happy. So, joy and happiness ultimately are a state of our own mind, which is in our own control. LOVE of life means serving others and enjoying from it. THIS way you control happiness. Expect little and give your best.

Ali, the Nephew of the Prohet of Islam said "Earn as if you shall never die, and share what you earn with the needy as if you will die tomorrow, so you may gain joy and happiness and closeness to Allah!!"

One way of gaining happiness I guess.

Peace

True happiness is a work in progress. You realize you have it as soon as you realize you have it. It is in no book, no object and no other person, it is inside you.
