When somebody (male or female) goes out with someone much younger than them, usually an age gap that wouldn't be very PC for example 36 year old man, 15 year old girl. Or a 35 year old woman and an 18 year old man. it's a slang term.

This is also known as Cradle Snatching. It refers to a situation in which an older individual seduces a much younger one. People who 'rob the cradle' are commonly called "cradle snatchers" or "cradle robbers". It is not a complementary term, but it could be used in a joking fashion as did the answerer above, who referred to a husband 13 years her senior.

Well a cradle is something a baby sleeps in. A robber is someone who steals...put it together. No really...Your with someone way to young for you.

A cradle robber is a child molester (male or female). It is an adult that entices a child into a relationship. Sometimes the child is aware and sometimes not.

It means going out with someone who is much younger than you. Its usually directed towards a woman, instead of a man. Or, its been that way in my experiences.

wife she is 10 years older then me, so she robbed the cradle
