When you get into issues of relgion, sex, abortion and race in this country, people tend to get a little uptight. I do love the discussion it brings though. It gives people the chance to learn from another perspective!

Personally I don't see a big deal with it. But at the beginning of the book and the movie it states that everything is based on fact. Dan Brown said he was skeptical of the book while creating it but he started to become more and more curious as to whether or not what he was writing really is fiction. It confused a lot of christians and therefore people are putting it out. I personally read the book and thought it was good....but I know it's fiction and don't doubt my beliefs.

It should be taken as it is... a work of fiction! Just because it's based on what lots of people consider to be 'facts', doesn't make it real! People watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures, but (to the best of my knowledge!) don't believe that they really bought 'Dave Beethoven' to play synth in a 20th century mall, and have Socrates speak at their class presentation! Ok, perhaps not 'quite' the same - in that it's not as controversial, but it's the same premise!!!

And what if it does tell the truth? Are they afraid to be proven wrong? I think that is what the problem is, they are afraid of being exposed.
But I haven't seen the movie, nor do I focus too much energy on these man-made religions.

Uhm... Did you even read the book? That, in and of itself is reason to hate the movie.
