I'm not sure if it's the same because of the mother passing away, but my husband adopted my son (by another man who signed his rights over) and we went through a lawyer and it costed us $600.00. This is in Alabama, so different states may be different. Hope this helped a little.......

As one answer confrnts you with the question,"Why think of adoption. She is urs". That is the most humane and uncomplicated way out In any case being a teenager she would hardly be with you for long I believe you must also not be much old Believe me to have a grown up daughter around you chirping all the time is a very ennervating experience. Don't even think of giving her away. Her father does not say anything? Can he? Is e weighed down by your agreeing to marry him?

It shouldn't cost much. Probably more paper work than anything. Good for you for stepping up to the plate.

I don't know any exact costs, but lots of Law Schools do free law clinics to help people out with these sorts of things.... check out the schools in your area.

Don't know. Consult a lawyer or an adoption center in your area.

the cost is high but good for you. If that's what you really want the cost shouldn't matter for that little girl is a treasure.

13.95 I think, or you could actually contact an ATTORNEY, they are spelled that way in the phone book.
