Lately I have been really sad, unmotivated, and just plain tired. I sleep most of the day I just cant find anything that will make me feel better. I mean I want to be happy but I just cant. I used to think about the future and me finishing college, gettin married and having kids and that would make me feel better but now nothing seem to make me feel happy. I jutst feel like life is boring. It's like I cant find happiness. I would give almost anything to feel like my self again.

It sounds like you are maybe a teen or young adult, I am not sure. But I am 15, and I have that same exact feeling, its kind of wierd how well you explained it. But I just try my hardest to live in the moment, I think that is the only thing that you can do. By doing that I found something I love to do that makes me happy, tennis. And I realized that by thiking that way I stopped sociallizing, so I try to do one thing social a day(normally doesn't happen) But when it does I am happier. Just dont think of the future and think about what you want to do or be right now, and then try it. Each day you will make more progress to being happy again.

You could be clinically depressed, which is becoming normal these days. Almost everyone has gone through a bout or two in our lifetime, but if it goes for an entended period of time, you may want to contact a doctor about it. There are medications that you can take to help get you back to normal, and you don't have to take them the rest of your life. There are some that are addicting as well as non-addicting. And then again, you could just be stressed out by thinking about the future too much.

It could mean that your not having enough fun in your life. You might need to spice up your life by going to parties. Have you been drinking or anything if the past 30 days? If you have then you might feel depressed because the acahole could be making you feel worthless and unmotivated. You need to dress yourself up real nice and you need to go to out and meet new people. Don't stay at home and sulk over whatever comes to your mind. Do things that use to make you happy.

Depression

Perhaps your "old self" could best answer this question. Sometimes people suffer from depression out of seemingly nowhere, and sometimes they just get in a slump. Nothing is challenging or life is a little too challenging. I faded in and out of this for almost four years. Getting up each day and feeling like someone needed to throw a bucket of cold water in my face or something! But I did keep getting up and for me one little change started a series of events that lifted the veil off my life and got me going! I lost a few pounds, just enough that I noticed...then I decided to try to move out of my tiny, dingy apt. which required that I get a full time job...which got me back out in the real world....then more weight loss...new apt...old me!!!
All this is to say...have a talk with your "old self" see what she thinks. Do you just need that bucket of cold water, or is this sometime deeper?
The best consul...God, yourself, and a good friend!
