im in high school, so i would say high school because you are still at home with your parents and you can still depend on them to do things for you, but in college you have freedom, maybe to much freedom that you may not even want to be exposed to! also i choose high school cause thats were most of your memories are made and there is so much fun you get to have in high school cause its your last years of being a real kid and your first taste into going into the real world!

It depends on what you mean by 'happier'. High school can be a lot of fun, and in general it's not that difficult. You go to classes, hang out w/friends, and go home. In college, you have a LOT more freedom, especially if you are living on campus. You can create your own class schedule, you can go to class or not, whatever you feel like doing. There is a lot more opportunity for growing as a person in college. So basically, if you define happiness as being more independent and being able to make your own choices (and mistakes) then the answer would be college. If you are more comfortable living at home with your parents and not having to decide on your own what to do and when to do it then high school would probably be happier for you. I think though that as long as you have good friends and make sure you spend time with them, college and high school can be equally as pleasant. :)

I think most people are happier during their college life. In college there are less cliques and you have more opportunities to meet individuals from different cultures, social backgrounds, etc. College is a time where you can explore your belief systems and truly develop into the person you wish to be. In college individuality is celebrated more than in high school where there is so much pressure to fit into a certain category. In either situation life is what you make of it. Carpe Diem!

A high school life is definitely happier than college. Although you can drink and smoke and rock out w/ ur c0ck out in college, there's the flip-side of financial stress and pressure to get a carreet started. In high school, all you gotta do is attend class, do homework and socialize. You don't have to worry about the future. All that matters is the friendships that you're building. (And of course the occassional puppy love.)

College is better! You tend to be at the same intellectual level as your peers, get to live with your friends if you choose to, and are granted so many freedoms. College is a transitional time between high school (pretty much required for everyone) and your adult life. You are free to do what you want, but your parents (for most people) are still around as a safety net for when you want them to be or need them to be.

Hmm, I guess it depends on which college you go to. I went to CSUN and I can't say it was the best time of my life. In someways high school was great because of the little responsibility I had at the time. Most of my college career consisted of working full-time. Nevertheless, I'm sure if I went to a school like UCSB I would definitely think college was better.

I'll be in college in a year, but I can definetely say that college life will be a lot better than high school.
High school is full of superficial witches who lay each other after their alcohol parties on the weekends. High school is full of teachers who can't teach. High school is full of classes that you have to take to graduate but don't interest you at all. My high school experiance has been good so far, but I won't miss it.

For me, college was happier. I was definitely more free--I had my own place, I could make my own hours, eat my own menu, etc. High School was so structured and conformist. In college you only have to participate in the things you choose. I teach high school now, but if I had to go back to being a student, I would go back to college.

College is better. Get excited for your freshman year of college because it definately was one of the best for me. Yes there are parties. No parents, unless you commute, and so much freedom. You don't have to go to class although it's wise so you can get good grades, because why else would you go to college? And if you plan on going to college for the parties, then you are mistaken because you can attend those without being in college. The courses are harder, the days seem shorter, but the weekend helps college kids relieve themselves of that stress. But be careful, drinking tickets are around $350.

I'm a mother of four boys who have all told me they have preferred the college life. And really, who wouldn't? No curfews, no Mom asking where are you going, who will you be with, etc.
It's also a sort of right of passage for those making the transition from high school to college.
From the mothers' point of view: we hope and pray we have taught our children well and they will go on to have happy, safe and healthy lives, in college and further down the road.
