No. That is not true. It does not matter what blood type the spouses have -- we blood type by specific proteins on the surface of erythrocytes (red blood cells). It's a type of "self-marker" saying: "I am a part of this body. Immune system, do not attack me." It's a defense mechanism that also allows the destruction of ALIEN blood in your system (ie. if B blood is transfused into someone with A blood).
