I am a guy and if a girl was really interrested me and wanted to give me something on a second date I wold like to get something like a hand writen note or letter telling me about your feelings. It might be too soon on only a second date. Have you known him for a while? Do you know what he likes? If his favorite food is Italian then a nice home cooked meal would be romantic. It would have to be something you put some effort into instead of just buying him something.

A gift on the second date might be a little forward. I guess a bottle of wine or something woule be OK. But I woudl wait to get more established with the relationship before doing anything more than that.
Maybe a little further down the road, he would appreciate something from a hobby of his or some tickets to a concert or sporting event that you guys could attend together.
I'm sure he would rather have a more "physical" gift on the second date.

A simple yet affecting gift for a guy especially if he also is a romantic would be some sort of card or note or something to that affect stating your feelings on the relationship you two have. It probably would be best written in some sort of free verse poetry or something to that effect. Good luck hope this helps.

As a guy, my favorite gift is when my girlfriend made a little "coupon book." You can just throw a bunch of random things in there and im sure he will appreciate it.. Some examples would just be coupon for you taking him out to dinner, movie night, back massage, maybe some more intimate things.. Just an idea that I like alot. It is alot better when it is homemade too. Good luck

Really depends on the guy. Most guys I know would be uncomfortable with the idea of the girl buying him a gift that soon. I'd go with a card if it were me. Write something nice and thoughtful (but not too intense, it is only your second date) on the inside and give it to him.

The 2nd date IS the gift.
Honestly, if you give him a gift on a second date, it may scare him away. Guys generally like girls who play hard to get. Not that you should be a B.... If you smile and act interested in what he says, that's usually enough at the beginning. But you should go on your second date empty handed...it should be HIM that brings you flowers.

I think that the guy should typically give gifts, but if you've got your heart set on it, here's the advice I have given to others with success. Find out what he is interested in, what he likes to do. Then get something that is affiliated with that. He will appreciate that you listened to him and care about his hobbies.

if you give him a flower, give just one (rose or somthing) a bunch will make him think you're in love with him already that might scare him or put him in an akward position since he might not feel the same way for you. maybe some sort of food that you guys could share. some strawberries with chocolate dip....

My last girlfriend use to send me flowers all the time but i really didnt like it even though i acted as if i did. He has to be passionate about something movies, sports, art, etc... Guys are not really moved by flowers but get him an autographed Tom Brady football and you could move him to tears.
