i wouldn't really advise it because you could start chatting to someone and really get to like them and then find out that they are not who they say they are. if i was you i'd only give it out to people that you know. if someone is bothering you though you could always block them and then they won't be able to contact you.

I would say beware of pics, since they have your face in and combined with your MSN (the profile of which normally has what town you live in, where you work or school etc) could make it too easy for someone to identify you and stalk you.

However, I don't see the problem in giving out your MSN addy to people you don't know - if they start acting up, or saying things you don't want to hear, block and delete them. And of course, never accept incoming files or e-mails with attatchements from people you don't know, and don't click on links in messages unless you're sure what they are.

I.E. Not illegal, but potentially harmful and liable to lead to problems.
