heaven...or hell

one or the other, the choice is essentially ours

there is no option C

we will not become extinct, we are not going to destroy the planet, and we are not going to become anything other than human (in the material sense, anyway)

sadly, we mostly take the low road (broad road), and miss the high road (narrow way)

we are certainly not "improving" as a society of creatures, we're not doing a better job of taking care of the earth, and we're not doing a better job of taking care of our fellow man...by and large, generally speaking

biologically/genetically speaking, our genome is (still) in decline, mutational load is increasing, the number of pathogens that we have to do battle with is increasing

i am speaking generally, on average, on the whole here

the only reason we live longer on average today (and that statistic can be viewed and discussed from several perspectives including "QUALITY" of life) is do to science and technologoy...certainly not due to any random, accidental, lucky, purely naturalistic processes

we're not getting better...as purely naturalistic humans

i'm not a pessimist...or an extreme optimist...i am a realist

We are - for the first time in history - standing at a crossroad that leads to a) Continuation or b) Chaos, because human beings have never created the means to destroy ourselves totally in the past nor had the rapidly vanishing ability to avert that fate. We can't even agree that we are ruining the planet. Even our Chief Executive pooh-poohs Global Warming. Let us pray. And vote.

Since the current species in the western culture is more interested in appearance than substance, we are not going to fare to well.

We sacrifice our children on the altar of money, and that's only if they make it out of the womb alive to begin with.

We continue to lower our standards morally, ethically, and educationally.. then have the audacity to ask why Johnny can't read, why our government lies, and why Jane is pregnant out of wedlock, yet again!

We condone long term genocide of our elderly (nursing homes).

It has been said you can tell a lot by a society based on how they treat their young and their elderly.

What do you think?

From a biological point of view,
towards healthier, richer and more beautiful existence. It if wasn't so, all people would be by now ugly, sick and poor. And it's not so -- that means it's gonna be the other way, some day, and that's where natural selection AND human activities lead us.

Don't believe what these "extermination doomsayers" say.

Hopefully two steps forward and only one step back. Things are better for me, as a women, now in the USA then at any other time or country or culture, that I know about.

Women, forced to make there own way, alone as independents with no family, have a better chance here then anywhere else.
