^ This one, no doubt. It works really well and works FAST. Also straightens wet hair. My hair is exteremely thick and frizzy,so I would know. and it's cheap too.
All my friends have this one, and so do I.

go to Sally's or any other beauty supply store. i got my straightener that is a wet to dry at a Sally's on sale for $30 at regular price is like $50+

Wal-mart believe it or not has some good ones too.... look for ceramic plates, and a temp of minimum 175 (i think) the best ones go up really hit and have a dial to change the temp up or down....

also tip--- if your hair is really curly it may be easier to blow dry straight as possible then use the straightening iron

I have curly hair and I use the Suave Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioners for my hair when I feel like having less curl. If my hair dries naturally it's pretty darn straight after using it, and if I use a blowdryer it's really light and looks really good. And yes, it's cheap as hell. I think for both I only pay $4 at most. good luck finding somethign you like. It's frustrating to find a good hair product because even if you don't like it, you waste so much money using somethingyou'll not want to use again. I feel your pain!!!

Rusk radical anticurl. Usually done by professionals but I have purchased it several times on ebay for less than $30. Highly recommend. Takes about 30 minutes top.

The cheaper it is on your hair it wouldn't really work cause i have one and it doesn't really work that good so i should know cause I try using it most of the time. Do you think you might want an expensive one cause those ones work alot more better than the cheaper ones I also have a expensive one too. so yeah.

I'm not sure of any good straighteners under 30$, but i definitely wouldn't get a Conair straightener because they do not work unless you straight one section of your hair for 8 minutes.my straightener is ceramic plated and is by Hot Tools which works the best for my wavy hair.
