My 5 year old just lost her first tooth last night and woke up this morning with a fever of 102. I remember that she always had fever when she was teething, is it the same when adult teeth start to come in?

This same thing happened with my daughter. I of course call her doctor right away and he told me that she in fact was cutting teeth again and a low grade fever was not uncommon. Don't panic.. call your doctor just to set your mind at ease.

Yes, unfortunately it is common. The tooth is coming through live tissue and it hurts to boot! When children have pain they tend to get fussy and anxious. Some older children when anxious can run a mild fever also. Nobody exactly knows why, but it is common.

no, it is totally not common. The fever most likely has nothing to do with the tooth, plesae call your pediatrician

I've got three children, and I've never heard of that. I'd be on the lookout for other symptoms and keep her away from other kids until it clears up.

No. That is not common, at least not to my understanding.
