Although I am far from being a religious man, I do abide by one rule: The Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." It's easy to say, hard to do, but worth the effort.
Many of the people on this thread could learn a lot if they followed that tenant -instead of being preoccupied with which god can beat up other gods, whose religion is right/wrong, etc.

I base my beliefs on the teachings and saying of Buddha. A lot of which strike a cord with me that no other religion does.

The bible is a book of mythology and God does not exist.
Those are factual statements as evidenced by the fact there is no agreement on either by those who claim to be believers in both.
I am atheist who believes in the eternity of the universe and life. I believe that because it is logical, observable (to a limited extent) and there is no reason to believe otherwise.
