If you know that you dont love him then why are you even hangingn around and contemplating on whether to go for it or not. Dont break his heart yeh so dont go there. There is obviously a reason as to why you dont love him, try to focus on that, see if you can fall in love. if not move on.

I'd finish it now before you both get deep into the relationship. By the sound of it your hearts not in it so why try to prolong the relationship just for a what if. This may cause alot of hurt so sooner rather then later chick.

Well, I've personally been in one of these situations. I'll tell you what I did...but you decide on your own. I dated a guy who said he was in love with me, wanted to marry me and so on, but i soon found out, I didn't love him. I didn't want to hurt him, but i knew contuning the relationship with false feelings was only more devastating. I believe you should stay true to you feelings, be honest with him. Honesty is the best thing!

You need to let him down gently. Sounds like he really loves you and sounds like you think a lot of him but it is not fair to string him along when there might be someone out there that would love him very much.

You can not feel what you do not feel and there is no shame in this.
say "if I could chose to love you then I would but (and I'm assuming here) in truth I love someone else (and assuming again) but they do not love me back, so the pain you are feeling now, I am feeling too, only unfortuanately for both of us, it is for someone else."

Be honest with him. No point in leading him on. Would you want to fall in love with a guy, date him for years, and later find out he was just in it for sex and not love?

I have been there.
There was this colleague I knew that loved me. I didn't feel the same for him, but I hoped to love him eventually... and dated him for two years.
We shared a lot together, but I NEVER got to love him, and finally gave up.
So you can't do anything about it.
I know it's a sad situation, but don't waste your time.
Good luck!

Run, fast. That happened on my wedding day, and now I'm in the middle of a divorce. I should have ran that moment! Let him go, before you end up regretting it.
