They don't "shy" away from anything. They simply just don't want to take responsibility for their actions because they are selfish and no good to begin with.

Only weak minded little weasels would shy away from being a father and only a dirt bag would not pay child support. Sometimes though I suppose this could be for the best, in that these men will not negatively influence the children.

I am not sure why a man would want to have child walking around on this planet that he chooses not to know. The child support issue is probably that they can not afford to pay it and live the life that they want to live. It should an automatic thing that goes off in a males head that he needs to care of the child that he fathered. Sadly, some men have not been able to comprehend that fact.

Because some men are too greedy to give to the children that they were a part of. But then again, some women are too greedy as well. If some men are paying child support already mothers just expect more.

"Shy away." LOL You make them sound so innocent. Men who turn their back on their children are not shy, nor innocent. They are disgusting pieces of trash who irresponsibly create a life then abandon that life. The reason they do it is because we live in a selfish world where it's all about the "me" complex. They have little to no regard for human life as long as THEY are not inconvenienced. These are among the most despicable criminals, and yes, it is criminal.

Because they are ******* asswholes who will never grow up! I hate my dad with a passion that burns worse than hell for this same reason. It's not that he doesn't want to pay, it's that he doesn't have anything to say to me or my sisters anymore. He only talks to us in front of other people to make it seem like everything is fine. I know I need to work with these issues, and I got off the subject, but fathers just don't understand how much things like this hurt their kids.

I think each situation is different, and only that particular "father" could really answer. But in my father's case, it was humiliation. He cheated on my mother and simply could never face any of us again (I have 2 siblings), even though the cost was drifting away from us completely. In my wife's case, it was fear. He was so scared his life would fall apart after having two baby girls he couldn't handle it. This "fear" obviously stemmed from selfishness and immaturity, but it was fear nonetheless.
