They're not, and you should know. Obviously you didn't learn about any of them, Buddhists don't have any god. I don't recall learning about any religion in school, except for bits and pieces from say... a literature class.

The only answer I can think of is : 1st Jesus Christ historically is not considered a "GOD", and for various reasons it is not considered world history topic as Greek and others. However be aware there are many "Gods", "Goddess" that are excluded in history topics. And lastly, for the most part many of the history based Gods are taught not in a faith based manner but how the environment, government and progress of the nation was built on that as a foundation. "Jesus Christ" was not the primary corner stone of a civilization in the past. He is more of the here and now and would be a sensitive topic in the school system due to current legislation.

Correction: "Foreign buddist gods"? 1.) Buddist aren't "foreign," they're allowed to live in the United States or anywhere for that matter last time I checked. 2.) Buddism is an atheistic religion, meaning they don't worship a particular god.
Public High School students aren't required to learn about any religion thoroughly, they are however introduced in history class (which Jesus and Christianity is also included)
Jesus isn't a "god" he is the son of god who was sent to Earth to save the people of their sins.

Madalyn M. O'Hair---this I believe is where it all started. I also believe that sociaty as a whole has gone to hell in a hand basket ever since.
If you want my opinion, well never mind---it won't do any good because too many panty waisted lawyers and our Government listen to all the organizations that want to do away with, prayer, and take In God we trust off our currency and take the Ten commandments out of our court rooms. It is sad that across America, statisic has shown that over 85% of Americans beleive in God or a god, but everyday you here something about taking more of our liberties away and the court systems are letting happen just because of a few----dang you done made me mad--I'm not saying anything else.
My God Bless You

They do learn about Jesus in the same way they learn about other gods and prophets: as a part of their history and social studies classes (puritans, catholics, reformation, Roman Empire and christians, etc)
Obviously the problem with teaching christianity as THE TRUTH in school is that many students aren't christians, and that the christians all want their own brand of christianity taught as THE TRUTH, and since christians disagree on the specifics of THE TRUTH and regard all versions other than their own as wrong, that presents certain problems for education, don't you think?

Remember the Constitution....it definitely states "Separation of Church and State". Since the founding fathers were Christians, it is implied that it is Separation of Christianity and State".
It is politically correct to allow other religions into the schools and not Christianity, which makes sense now...since Military Chaplins are no longer permitted to use the name Jesus Christ during sermons.

why to teach the thing which is not taught by Jesus himself.
Will you call me a "king" when i never said i am King. Then why are you calling Jesus "God" , when he never said " I am God".
QURAN (5:75) "Christ the son of Mary was no more than an Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!"

Where are you at? I strongly suggest you re educate yourself. There is NO teaching of other "Gods" in Public schools. You are stupid, just plain dumb.
You should have asked "Why do I have to pay taxes for ignorant Christians to send their snotty little kids to a private Christian School?" Because THIS is the reality. You get to send your snotty kid to a private Christian School with taxpayer money. I do not see taxpayer money going to Pagan Home Schooling or Buddist Temple Studies or many of the other non judeo based spiritualities... oops I am being too smart for ya aren't I duh huh.
Jeez get a grip you freak.

First of all there are no Buddhist gods. Second of all, what school did you go to? I was never taught about any "gods". I DID take a Greek Mythology class in senior year of high school but that was a elective course.
