over the last 3 years, I have had 2 operations for this problem. I still have trouble holding onto stuff. Is this a permanent problems ( uncurable) or do I need another dr?

I will assume that you have had hand surgeries in order to free up the median nerve. If the impingement of the nerve occurred there it should be free as a bird at this point. The median nerve travels from the neck in the brachial plexus into the arm and into the had through the carpal tunnel. Perhaps there is a nerve impingement elsewhere, you may want to talk to a neurologist about a EMG or nerve velocity exam to help determine if this is the case.
