I love Mastiffs of all sorts, but my favorite is the Bull Mastiff. They're so lazy! I love how large they get, too. I had one that once taught my daughter to walk by letting her grab the loose skin on the back of his neck. He'd stand up slowly, they'd walk a few steps together, and when she'd get tired, he'd sit her down slowly so she didn't fall. Their walks got longer and longer until one day she just walked away from him to something else that caught her attention. The dog looked so darned proud of her! He waited till she'd gotten where she was going, then went over and licked her face thoroughly. It was too funny!

my riding trainer had a bull mastiff, he was the sweetest dog ever, he would never chase the horses and he would often take their lead ropes and lead them for us. unfortunately he had a tumor in his leg so it was amputated, but still he was a sweet loving happy dog, then the cancer spread to his lungs so he was put down, even when he was sick though he would always be happy and loving and sweet.

my trainer also go a new mastiff for christmas, shes now nine months and smart as can be, she was a really fast learner when it came to being around horses and on open property, and she's a complete sweetheart and very playful (and sleepy)
