so i saw my cousins girlfriend the other day at the store and she is 7 months preg...when i saw her she tried to avoid me and when i stopped her to say "hi" her eyes were blood shot and she couldnt make eye contact with me...today i mentioned it to my friend because its realy bothereing me, she said that she heard shes been smoking pot for the past 2 months...i have a child of my own and one on the way...this is really upsetting to me and knowing that that baby is my cousin really pisses me off...what should i do??? is it any of my business???

i just talked to my mom and she said that she just saw her today and her one eye was bllod shot like her contacts were bothering her...mom said that the baby weighs 6lbs and she still has 3 weeks to go so it probably is her contacts because ive read how contacts may not fit the same when you are pregnant...i hope this is all it is....

you really should mention your concern to her, because a lot of people turn to their "comfort foods" when they are scared, and maybe your cousin's girlfriend is very scared and can't figure out what to do, so she chooses to use pot.
but if she keeps doing it or lies to you about it, you should tell your cousin. i'm not one to tattle, but this is maybe something your cousin DOESN"T know.

I don't know what you call this dept. where you live, but here it's the dept. of Child Welfare Services. You should call them and report her. That's child abuse. I've read where they have put women in jail for doing drugs and excessive drinking until the baby is born. In all probability they may take the baby after it's born if they decide she'd be an unfit mother. Her poor baby doesn't have a chance. Maybe this is what she needs to open up her eyes. Please report her for the baby's sake.

If she is doing drugs then that is pretty much child abuse. Yes, it is your business even if you weren't related to the baby. She is putting her child in harms way and it's not even born yet. Since you have a child on the way you probably wouldn't want to do this, (or maybe you do) but you could ask her to let you adopt the baby. Or convince her to let another family member to adopt the baby. She obviously isn't ready to take care of a child if she can barely take care of herself. It would be alot to ask of her to give up her child, and it would be alot to ask of someone if you asked them to adopt it, but in the long run it's whats best for the child since who knows what could happen to it if she keeps it.

I agree with Ac11d Tr0j4n and the answer given. This is a child that has a high probability of birth defects! Try calling the United Way to ask for referral to an agency that could intervene for the baby's sake! Thanks for caring about the child! :)

Yes it can be your bussiness because you have family relations , tell your cousin whats going on and tell him how this can affect there and there childs life. You can try to approach her at say have a get together with her and your cousin and talk about it. On the other hand you can ignore the entire situation.

The life of another human being, even unborn, is everybody's business. If she doesn't care about her baby now, maybe she shouldn't raise it. I would tell somebody what I know, hoping they can do something to help this girl. How will you feel when you see her baby brain damaged, and know you did nothing to stop it?

i would say..."if you dont want the baby, give it to someone who does..." like me. I would love to adopt.
