I know that I am one of those people who get irritated when people do not spell correctly or use incorrect grammar. However some people have problems because they either have learning disabilities or English is not their first language. And an occasional typo is not so bad. But it takes maybe one second to use spell check. Some questions are almost illegible due to multiple misspellings.

Incorrect spelling doesn't necessarily mean ignorance. Some people just don't take the time to spell check because they are in a hurry or they are excited and just don't realize their mistakes after they have entered their post and then there isn't a chance to go back and fix the errors. If anything your way of thinking is ignorance. Remember no one is perfect...especially you!

Incorrect spelling in no way shows ignorance. For the spelling police yes , I am sure there are many many intelligent people out there in the world that can't spell worth a damn and also dumb asses that can spell anything and everything.

There are more than one answer to this question. I would say
-that some people don't know how to spell a word- lack of writing and reading skills.
-the nature of e-mail is more casual than formal academic or business writing. When people post, they don't worry about spelling.
-Internet postings are quick. Some people realize that they mispelled a word too late.
-Other people have a hard time looking for the speeling tools - laziness - non techie person.

Instant gratification. We're a time-pressed society. They don't have time for spell check. They're on a deadline. I mean, if we spend this much time on Yahoo Answers, we are obviously busy people with more important things to do than check our spelling!

I am dyslexic and spell checker dose not always know which word I am trying to spell. It could also be words [English] are not spelled quit the same here as they are in the U.K. and Canada. It might seem a bit snobbish to expect everyone to conform to your idea of correct. I will be using spell checker but as you can see it does not recognise some words as misspelled.

Ignorance has nothing to do with it. Talk to my son, he is brilliant. Ask him to write it down...forget it...it takes to long to read due to the spelling errors. So, just deal with the differences in people and accept that some people just cant spell. :)

well some people can't actually spell it's when they do it on purpose just to be lazy that's annoying. if it's because they just can't figure out how to spell it then it's no big deal but the people that spell like crap just because they can make their spelling shorter so it takes less time that's what bugs me.

Some people are from different countries and not mastered the hardest language in the world to learn. Give them a break. Geez.
