I have read the bible from cover to cover over 60 times and I have never seen anything that resembles any mention of George Bush. In fact, I don't think God wants to take any credit for him, one way or the other. I am not sure where you pastor could possibly come up with this, but he is interjecting his own opinion into the mouth of God. That is not his job. His is to lead the people through the proper interpretation of the bible and give motivation to live by the principles taught in there. If he wants to be political, then he should run for congress. Ask him nicely how he came up with that reasoning and make sure it is objective, ask for the chapter and verse. of course there is none and he will take some scripture and give his reasons for the interpretation. But you could put any mans name there I guess, but the scripture for sure has another meaning entirely different. he should stick to what is there. There is more than enough things to teach without stretching for this kind of doctrine.

Dear Dumb American,
First I'm sure your not dumb. God sent all of us here and George Bush being one of those people. As far as him being mentioned in the Bible am not sure about that but then again God does mention " his children " or " his people ". So to me that is a yes and no question. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck: Blueladybug

God, according to the Bible, has also sent a plague of locusts as a punishment to indicate his displeasure with a people. George Bush's effect on America and the world can be likened to that of a plague of locusts, wouldn't you say?

Maybe your pastor is referring to the concept of evil, but I'd say Bush's buddy Cheney is a better example of that. Or, maybe your pastor is talking about the burning bush! LOL!

The truth is in the bible. Pastors, priests, fathers etc they only interpret what the bible is saying, what they say can be biast. Look for the truth of what he or she says with scriptures. Ask yourself can they back this statement up with scriptures. The bible is god's solem word, it's the truth, our lord god is the truth.

i detect myself positioned off by this as properly, and that i'm a Bush supporter. I have no subject with the church coaching the congregation on the themes and then asserting "Vote your unsleeping", yet no longer truly tell the congregation which candidate to vote for.
