Before washing them trying spraying a stain pretreater on them. My boys seem to get everything they wear stained. You can also try washing the clothes in clorox 2 for colors and clorox for whites. They really do help.
I also shop alot of yard sales for clothes the prices are usually cheaper so if they to stained so what.

I go to Sams Club and buy a huge thing of Oxy Clean and Shout. Then I spray all the stains with Shout liberally before putting them in the laundry and dump a scoup of Oxy Clean in, with the detergent and softner. I let the clothes soak in the Oxy Clean, before washing. Usually, all the stains come out, but once in a while we have one that's stubborn and that outfit becomes play clothes.
I've found Tide-to-Go is nice for small stains when you're out too.

You could buy play clothes in dark colors. Soaking stains in OXI can get them out. Buy cute aprons and smocks to wear when she paints or does other messy projects. Have some perspective - one day you will open a box of her little stained shirts and remember all the fun she had when was two.

I have two boys whose clothes still look good. I use a stain stick before stains set in and i use oxy clean along with the regular laundry detergent. I dont dry them so in case the stain is still there it wont be set in and it keeps them from fading.

BORAX along with your normal detergent.
For really tough stains, soak the clothes in a bucket of warm water with a 1/4 cup of dishwasher detergent added.
Between the two... you'll be surprised how many stains will come out!

I am in the same situation with my son. The best thing I can suggest is to invest in Oxyclean. There are very few stains that I have found that it will not get out. It may take washing them a time or 2, but eventually they will come out.

Get some Shout stain remover. That stuff is great. My son literally rolls in the dirt. It has removed stains that I thought would never come out. You may need to pretreat some stains.

Stay away from white/light colored clothes. If they stain, oh well, that's the life of a 2 year old.

The new Spray & Wash dual pre-treater (pink and clear) is fabulous! The name is a misnomer as it actually is squeezable not sprayable. If that doens't work I have the back up granular OxiClean ready. Mix a scoop with hot (or the hottest the fabric will allow) and let the stuff soak for 24 hours. Don't bother with the OxiClean pre treater that comes in the spray bottle.
