Not by riding your bike alone. If you are riding at a quick pace, it should only take you 3 or 4 minutes to go a mile, so going only a couple miles is only like a 15 minute workout. Its important to get more than that to get your heart rate up. Go for at least an hour. Bike riding isnt as hard as that sounds, especially if its not too hilly. Also, you need to change your diet. Dont cut back on food or go anorexic... just dont overeat and cut back on the fatty or sugary foods! Fruits and vegetables are the best but you also need milk protein etc. You know what i mean.

it depends on how overweight you are. If you are more overweight, you are more likely to lose 10-20 pounds quickly. If you are just trying to fit into those old close again, bicycling will need to be supplemented with making healthy eating choices (wheat bread over white, veggies over chips, etc.), but you probably would also need to add a more intense exercise to your routine also (running, kickboxing), to lose the pounds in about 2 months.

If you eat a well balanced diet and drink water with the riding... probably so.
