I'm 17, 5'11, and 165. Techinically I'm in the right weight range for my height but I'm still "chubby" looking. My diet is very good. Plenty of water, proteins for fish and chicken. Green vegetables and fruit. I've been doing 25 mins on an elliptical everyother day. I was really overweight but lost 50lbs on just dieting alone, last year. Should I add anything else to my routine to lose the weight? And I just got the machine so my time should increase more into the summer.

You don't need to lose 30 pounds firstly. I am 5ft 10 1/2 inches. I weight about 170. I was 187 last year, and to lose some weight and get healthier, I went to the gym 3 times a week for only 1/2 hour. At the gym, you need to get some muscle reps going as well as just the aerobic. So, from home, using your eliptical, try doing 25 pushups, than 5 min on the eliptical. Than 25 situps, than 5 min on the eliptical etc etc etc...you need to alternate...but remember, muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less room, and will make you look more toned, getting rid of the chub look. I had lost 15 pounds in 2 moths doing this. And it wasn't hard..I'm just a slacker, and stop doing things even if they work after a short amount of time, LOL g/l.

You should never make big goals like that because then you could easily give up. However, if you make small goals, like 2 pounds a week, you'll lose weight and not even know it. Lay off sugars and bread, keep doing what you do with lots of veggies and protein, but beef has been proven not to help gain weight, so do a little of that also. 3 servings of Dairy and 64+ ounces water a day helps you too!

Below site has info that you need to know like how you can't get fat with raw foods. Also chicken and fish have no fiber which causes a weight around waist that is not bodyfat or water retention and how to get rid of it. Most effective type of exercise to lose weight and why. And more. If your diet was very good, you would be slim. Also maybe you do not know when and how to eat those foods you eat.

It sounds like you are doing great!! Exercise is the key at this point, increase to at LEAST 35 minutes 4-5 days a week and stay away from the simple carbs(cakes, cookies, chips, white bread, etc.). If you stick with that you will lose the weight. Keep up the good work!!

I'm 5'9" and 170 lbs, i work out 3 times a week, 30 min cardio, 30 min weights and crunches and stuff, and i just watch my surgar and calorie intake. I have a very hard time actually loosing weight but because i work out i at least am toned for the most part. Tall people who aren't that over weight have a very hard time actually dropping pounds, its proven that short fat people ( not to be rude)loose more when they actually work out and eat better. so i wouldn't stress out too much. Just keep doing what your doing.

You have to change up your cardio - dont do the same thing all the time. Also try some weight training. Not too much - do light weights with a lot of reps. Muscle building is good because muscles burn more fat at resting time. Good luck!

Highly doable! Before September even! Just stick to this main remedy:

1. Eliminate sugar, and substitute for pure maple syrup. This sounds weird, but it works.

2. Food combine by eating carbs with vegetables or protein with vegetables, but never carbs and protein together. Read a little here to find out why: http://www.marilu.com/

3. Get out there and work your body girl! Exercise, but you don't have to work yourself to death. Go for long walks, jogs, swim, pilates (which I love). Bottom line is just have fun!

Before you know it, you'll be dropping pounds. And if you do yourself a favor and stick to it, you won't want to go back to your old ways.

That's not bad. Just drink lots of water and eat more vegetables and fruits and exercise a lot. I need to lose weight too and that's what I am doing.

Start doing exercises that tone muscles and drink lots of water. If you tone the muscles you'll lose the "chubby look" as your body tightens up, and water helps bring the skin back to the shape of your body.

you need to exercise everyday period. 7 days a week. the body can only lose about 1-2 pounds a week in a healthy fashion. if you lose more weight than that, your body will try harder to maintain the fat it already has. so don't starve yourself, and don't overdo the exercise, just do it more. also switch up your routine. don't do the same thing everyday.
