Think about making what you're doing as being romantic as opposed to the place you are as being romantic. True, it's pretty sweet to eat at a secluded restaurant and walk down the beach in the moonlight...but the way you feel about each other can make a picnic and a stroll in the park just as amazing!

It depends how you "Define Romantic".
Everyone has different aspirations of what Romance is to them as everyone is different.
Some like the idea of Paris and going up the Eiffel Tower, or going along the waterways of Venice in a gondolier, others its a place on a tropical island walking down a Long white sandy beach in the moonlight (or at sunset) or going out into the country on a lovely summers day for long walks and pick-nicks.

I myself love long walks in the country, away from the city with lots of fresh air, the wind through your hair, bird song and teh sound of rushing rivers and trickerling streams and just the two of you enjoying the surroundings, each other, and not having to say anything to each other, but knowing exactly what each other is thinking (with a cheeky smile) at that moment in time. Lovely :)

How about Athens (as a city break)?
Easyjet do budget flights there now, then you can just go onto yahoo and search for cheap accomodation and off you go.
If money is tight, you could stay in England and drive to a secluded beach and set up a table with candles and spend the evening sleeping under the stars.
Now that is romantic.

You could always go camp by a river or a lake...especially if it's during the week and not as many people around... Maybe just turn off the cell phones and light some candles andsuch at your place or his..just make it something a little different than normal:) Good luck!

Maybe a weekend in a nice hotel and take along some flowers and candles to make it romantic.

We went to South Padre Island Texas. We LOVED it. It was so nice and romantic and it didn't cost very much.
