will my computer run faster if i remove all personal photo files, music files and VCD files, and burn them all on a disc or CD? im not sure if it matters so im asking. thank you for your reply.

There's no right and wrong answer here...

If your hard drive is almost out of space or severely fragmented, then yes, it can occassionally help to delete a lot of junk. However with the large hard drives we have today, just deleting junk isn't going to make much difference in most cases.

I suggest you search the net for spyware/adware removal, msconfig, and disk defragmenter.

Yes it will work!! you have to find out which files are the heaviest in terms of b,kb,mb,gb and delete those that you rarely use/need. Make sure you delete them from your recycling bin after deleting from computer. BE CAREFUL not to delete any files that are necessary to run your computer. i.e system components, drivers. You may want to try Compressing your Hard drive.

If U r using internet ,so do one thing just click start--All Programs--Accessories--System tool---Disk Clean Up---Choose Disk C: Drive (It will Delete all the unwanted files from ur computer which is not neccesary for u and ur computer)Then ur computer will work fast )It is safe to use For Windows 98and XP

If you are getting low on disk space, it probably is a good idea to move some stuff to CD. Or upgrade to a larger drive.

no it will not. removing files on your hard drive will not increase speed. it will only free up space on the hard drive. if you want to increase speed you need to add more ram. for this you will have to get someone who is knowledgeable in computer hardware to open up your pc and install a card with more ram.
