Lemons and limes are not the same thing. IF you are getting limes without seeds its because they have been bred that way and are using cuttings to produce new trees. We used to be able to get lemons like that in CA.

Both lemons and limes naturally have seeds. Some varities have been developed through selective breeding or artificial mutation to be seedless. The grapes you typically get today are the same, seedless by design. A plant in nature could not propogate without seeds.

Just guessing here, but if they don't have seeds, how do they make new lime trees?
I guess it could be a genetically modified thing like seedless grapes....
