Anybody can be a Christian, but being a "pole dancer" is incompatible with Christian living.

I'd say that being a Hooters girl is probably "the limit" here (and not just because I used to be one). Anything beyond that, and we'd be skating on thin moral ice.

No, if they do, then most likely they're not Christians. The word "Christian" means "follower of Christ"...why would a follower of Christ be a pole dancer?

First, pole dancing does not have to include taking off your clothes, it can be used as a form of dance and exercise by itself.

Second, assuming you are talking about exotic dancers, God doesn't care what anyone does for a living. God loves, accepts and embraces us all. God's magnitude is far beyond the limited human traits that we ascribe to her.

Sure!
Why would god give us poles if he didn't want us to dance naked around them?
Seriously though, some people gain a sense of freedom from pole dancing and I think if people are responsible about it and don't devalue their bodies by having sex with the first guy to put Franklin in their thong, then it's all right with me.

Most xians I know live their lives as they choose, and find ways to justify their behavior if it seems to fly in the face of their religion. If you want to dance with a pole (not to be confused with a Pole, Polish person) then that's your biz (or whomever is doing the dancing). If the person doing the dancing can look in the mirror each day and be kewl with the person they see there, then no harm.

It is possible, but how can that person then take those same knees that slid down the pole and pray to a Holy God? Something ain't right about that picture!

I'm sorry, but no. While you may want to lead a Christian life, and you may attend church regularly, your actions will speak louder to God than your words.

Christ said many times that we are to "love our neighbors as ourselves" so that means that we are responsible for the well being of our fellow man as much as we are for our own. Unfortunately, if your pole dancing is leading others into sinful activites, such as coveting you over their spouses, then you, as much as they, are responsible for besmirching their souls. That is sin.

According to the book of Matthew 5:27-28 "The laws of Moses said, "You shall not commit adultery." But I say: Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

I know that is very harsh, and believe me, I am NOT trying to make you feel bad. Heaven knows I have made my share of mistakes, but the good thing is that God sent us Jesus to help us learn how to be good people. Good people, not PERFECT people. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (sorry couldn't find the verse number for this one). Anyway... What Christ wants for us is to learn from our mistakes and not to repeat them.

So if you ARE pole dancing, and trying to be a Christian then you know what you need to do but I must applaud you for being brave enough to ask the question. And I think that you already knew the answer before you asked. Keep asking the hard questions, and try your best to live up to your convictions. God bless you and yours.

Why not, there's nothing in the Chritian Bible that says you can't pole dance. It might not be the best idea but, you could if you really want to?

I guess everbody has their issues to deal with. For some it might be telling lies, for others it might be pole dancing. I think you can still love God and His ways and still make mistakes. However, you should strive to get it right.
