When I was younger I grew up around family members who were racist and for a long time I spilt things into black-n-white it had a powerful affect on me and as I got older I started to see things differently. Just because I have family members who are like that doesn't mean that I have to be also! So my question is Do Parents know the affect they can have on a child's life? Thank you for you answering!

Yes, children learn from there parents, and us as adults have to teach them how to grow into responsible good human beings, and being racists is so wrong and a awful thing to teach kids, it does have a bad effect and It's good you've realized that you don't' have to be that way just because you grew up around it, good for you, I raise my kids to treat everyone the same, we are all human and all the same, just different colors..God bless

Good ones worry about it. Maybe your parents did know the effect it would have on their children and that is what they wanted.
