Apparently so. After all, when he was done he needed to take a day off and rest. Why would an all powerfull being need to rest!?
Not to mention, isn't he still resting? Geeze how many billions of years does he need to recover?

God is still creating the universe. Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you. Where I go there are many mansions.".
Before time God took light out of darkness. A day to God is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.
To Iamisabaddon: Abaddon = a bad one. Revelations 9:11 They have a king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.
I now know the God of the hijackers on 9/11/01. He's a bad one.

Some Judaic traditions teach that God spent time creating the universe, resting on the seventh day, to set an example for mankind. Other traditions teach that the time frame set forth in Genesis is actually allegorical - each day representing a span of time.
I think most believers would agree that He *could* have done it in a millisecond, but chose not to.

No God is all powerful. He took seven days to give us a week. That is why he didn't create it in 0.0000001.He sat up time as we know it when he created the universe.God is creator.God is destroyer.God is in everything.Everything is in God.We are made in his image. We are made to worship him.
Praise the Lord all ye nations.Praise him all ye people for his merciful kindness is great toward us and his truth indureth to all generations.Praise ye the Lord.

God's wisdom, love n power are different than we think.
People may wonder why, if God exists, He doesn’t wave a magic wand and fix things, making or at least influencing everyone so that they do exactly what they ‘should’ do. But God never takes away anyone’s freedom of choice. God’s wisdom is to recognize and respect each soul’s individual identity, freedom and inherent goodness. God shares knowledge – a profound understanding of the dualities and dilemmas of love and hatred, happiness and sorrow, victory and defeat, etc. – but He does not make our choices for us. The soul is free to choose ‘to be or not to be’, ‘to love or not to love’. God’s love strengthens the soul’s will to free itself from the distresses caused by vices such as selfish desire, anger, fear, ego and attachment. God’s power helps the soul to recognize its highest potential and to aim for perfection by practising the art of simple living and high thinking. Such practice by a significant number of souls eventually brings about positive change in the whole of humanity.

First of all God created the universe not god.
Second God CREATED the universe. He didn't slap it together all willy-nilly. He took time to make intricate differences in everything.
Third God is so powerful that he's got you thinking and asking questions about Him.

6 days where? You assume that the 6 days are Earth days! Time is different depending on where your at. 6 Earth days could be 6 Heaven minutes! Time and age has been part of a theory of mine that explains teh age of biblical people like Moses etc. Your questin is good but you first have to know what is meant by "days" and where this "day" exist!

I'm sure if he had done it in six seconds, some would have asked the same question. One is trying to measure his almightiness in seconds? What has power and ability to do with how fast a thing is done? That hardly seems reasonable.

He took six days just to prove a point to man! In other words, to set an example. Everything God did was for an example to all men.

Good question Jack. The reason the Bible gives us dates and times if for our benefit. It took God less time than 0.00000001 seconds to create earth. He spoke it and it happened. Isn't he awesome? It also gives us the picture that God puts thought into what he does, like creating mankind. The Bible says "we are wonderfully and marvelously made."

No He is not less powerful than we think. God has a reason and a purpose for everything and does things in His own time and according to His own plan.
