I don't believe that God would ever hurt me on purpose because I am one of His children. He does do things that are good for me, and I believe that sometimes he doesn't stop bad things from happening to me because for some reason, the bad thing that happens to me will help me or others. I will be more useful to Him when I follow His plan for my life.

this question has two answers. For the person who does not study the bible, or have a strong spiritual background, that person would blame God, for getting a sickness such as HIV. They would ask why did this have to happen to me? As for me personally, I cannot blame God for any sickness that I get. Rain falls on the good and the bad. Yes, HIV is a horrible sickness, but a lot of people are getting it because people are still having unprotected sex. You say what about those who are married, what about the people who can still get it through blood transfusion, what about the innocent babies? I can't answer that. All I know is that God is all powerful, all knowing, and all merciful. I know that if such an illness were to come on me, the only choice left for me would be to go deeper and deeper into God, ask him to forgive me of my sins and to take me through this, and I believe with all my heart that He would take me through. No matter what, when you put yourself in God's hands, He will never let you go.

If you believe that god has already mapped out your life for you then you could blame him but I believe that all results in life and the consequences of the actions that you choose to make. Unless you contracted the illness through no fault of your own, such as blood transfusion or stuff like that.

I seriously doubt that I would ever contract HIV, simply because I do not engage in the sorts of behaviors that are predominantly responsible for it spread.

But if I were to engage in one of these behaviors and contract HIV as a result, I would not blame God. It wouldn't be His fault. It would be mine.

Nor would I blame God if I were ever to be diagnosed with cancer, as my father was (he died when I was 11 years old).

I would accept it as part of an imperfect life in this imperfect world -- and then make the most of whatever time I have left down here.

Considering the content of most of these responses, I feel it's important to point out that willfull sexual intercourse is not the only way to contract HIV. I don't think we could look at a surgical patient who had a blood transfusion or a newborn baby who contracted it from his mother or a child who contracted it by being raped and say, "It's your fault." So, who's fault is it?

I think what you're really asking is, "Why do bad things to happen to good people?" If we assume that all events (good and bad) are a part of "God's plan", then we have to assume that he bears the ultimate responsibility for bad things happening.

Funny how people blame God for everything, but give him credit for nothing! He didn't give anyone HIV, we spread that ourselves, part of our free will. Course, sometimes people are born with it, and people have been know to have gotten it by blood transfusions. How you get it isn't really the point, the point is that God didn't give it to you.

It would not be God's fault so don't blame him. If it is you who has HIV and got by your own bad behavior, confess your sin to a priest and then pray to God to give you the grace to accept it and to live a better life.

God bless you.

Read Genesis my dear lady.

The World become diseased and currupt when the first man sinned. Up until that time everything was "good" as God proclaimed.

So no, I would not blame God, I would rather blame sin.

well, if I went around, having unprotected sex with many diverse sexual partners, which I had done of my free will (no one forcing me to) and I ended up with HIV...who would I blame if it was my choice?
do you see where I am going?

even safe safe cannot stop the spread of disease, and if I chose to take part in sex, even with one person, it is my choice. Even if it was one person in life or 10, it was my choice. and any of those choices could have gotten me sick. It would be my fault, because I chose to do it. Not God. It would be mine alone.

One thing that we have to remember is that life is a long and unending series of making choices regarding one's life. And those choices are made by us. Others may influence us, but ultimately it is our choice.
whatever activities that we chose, our parents, or blood-donors chose to cause HIV to occur, it was our choice.

as for God's plan regarding our so-many choices; take it from one who has studied strategy and tactics. A good plan covers anything that may come forward. every choice that needs to be made. what goes has in store for us is absolute, but our conditions on how we get there, that depends on what we choose in life...

HELL NO! Our actions in life cause certain things as in HIV. You can only blame God for not filling your cup cake sized head with enough sense.
