It's a matter of personal taste. Some people like men with short, some people like long hair on men. I think it depends on your face shape, your hygiene, the cut, whether your hair is fine or thick.
I love long hair on men, but I'm the first to admit that some guys are really hot with short short hair. There are site where you can scan a pic of yourself and try out different styles. Give it a shot. If you can't find one online there are hair stylists who have that service!
Give the long hair a try. If you don't like it and no one else seems to - you can always cut it short again.

Short hair is for me, but I do like long hair on some guys. Depends.

I like guys better with short hair, because if their hair is really long, then sometimes from the back they look like a girl, which is a turn-off. But hair that like covers your ears is fine, because that's not so bad. But then again, all of this is just my opinion.

Short, but that's just me.
Long hair requires some work (and product), that men just don't seem willing to do. Then it looks all scraggly and dirty.
If they do spend all that time and money on their hair, I might worry that they're a bit too "metro-sexual" for me.
Rule of thumb for Ladies: (and where does that phrase come from??)
More hair products, "beauty" products or waxing visits than me per month and they're definitely too in love with themselves for me. ;-)
Keep it short.

well when they have long hair they don't take care of it and when they have short hair u can't really tell if they did any thing with it or not but short hair isn't bad and long hair isn't that bad either

There is nothing sexier than a man's neck - definitely short hair. But, neck hair must be neatly kept up. No fuzzy stuff.
