Easy. even if you're a figment of your own imagination. You still exist in some form somewhere to even have an imagination.

You exist, it is your existence that is a figment of your imagination. You can change it (reality) through the power of thought. What is in your mind will become real for you. Physically even. It is amazing, I have seen people materialise stuff out of thin air. Try this for starters: There might be someone who is rude to you all the time, visualise through meditation (half hour a night) this person being super nice to you, see what happens. It is amazing. Your reality is in your power to change, takes practice though and can be kind of freaky.
And NEVER do it to the detriment of others.

In essence, you are a figment of your imagination.
Existence is countered by nonexistence; imagination is often linked to that lack of existence, in order to create a plausible reality. Being alive is considered reality. Thus, it is linked to existence, and its counter, nonexistence, simply due to the fact that you can't have one without the other. So, if you look at it, existance can just as easily not exist...bringing about imagination.
