Yes. But you need to be a little more specific. You need to specify the lense in which you are looking through. For example are you talking about stereotypes and discriminations intracontinental, and if so which group of men. To say in general "men" does not meen anything. I think that you have to first define what man is, and what makes a man before you can dive into this. For example is man made by soely genetics, or is there something deeper. If it is merely genetics then how can you have two genetically similar individuals, and one fighting against the law, and the other upholding the law? Why do some sit at home and collect welfare, while others work 3 jobs. You better believe that the one who upholds the law, or the one working three jobs is going to have a set stereotype against the others. But to say that "American Men" have a set stereotype or discrimination against them is hard to determine because of the differences between them.

Yes, very much so.
If a woman gets pregnant, it's completely up to her if the baby will live, die, or be adopted. If a man decides he isn't ready for fatherhood and the woman decides she wants to keep the baby, he is labeled a dead-beat if he doesn't support the child.
If a man is physically abused in a relationship and he presses charges, he is mad a laughing stock by everyone.
If a man screws an under-aged girl, he is a slime bag. If a woman screws an under-aged boy, she is doing him a favor.
If a woman drowns her 5 children, the world feel sympathy for her. If a man drowns his 5 children, everyone wants to lynch him.
When a man works hard all day and takes care of his family, no one says "Great job", but if a woman is the sole bread winner then she gets awards.
Men MUST register for the draft, for women(and I am one of those who did) it's a choice.

Hello dear!
Good luck with your documentary!
Well, among many others:
Men should not cry!
Men should be and show "strong", with covered feelings, ...
Men used to be the worriers, hunters, sailors, now they find work around home and thus they are away from their physical environment, still they have to know how to behave in the vicinity of home! Women used to govern the home (prepare the fields, take care of home, children, prepare for the needs of everyone, including men for their war/ sailing/ hunting)! Now, since the customs and the move of the people into cities all of these have changed, reflecting to many unwanted an unknown reactions
of both sexes!

yes i do think so. there is a stereotype againts all men regardless of what race. in other words what i mean is that. men are down woman are up. for example you ever been to a bar any where around this planet. and seen a men's nite but the women go into clubs or bars and drink all nite. and even have to pay a cover charge to get into the clubs. but us men to dig deep down into our pockets just to have a good time. i have a friend that just got out of jail. long story short woman were on one side the on the other side. he said the got treated way more better than the men. he also said some of the women are doing time for worse crimes than the men and they still got treated better. here's one for you what about the teacher that had sex with the under age student young male. look how easy she got off i wished that was my son she be behind bars do'in time rape is rape but god forbid when it's an older man and a under age female.?/ why do women say there are no good men out there but when they have a good man they treat them like dirt. there is a show that airs sometime on tv called snapped it's a show about women who wigout on male spouses. well in one of the shows it tells how women have it made rather there good or bad. there was this female commentator. and she explaind how there are more programs in the us and in other contries to help women more than there are to help men. i coud go on on but yes i do think there is a big problem stereotyping men regardless of color

Stereotypes? Yes! Men are always stereotyped as emotionally inept or inanimate. Men are not better parents than women. I beg to disagree. Men can take care and nurture (not cuddle) a child in the same degree and quality if not better than women. Men are more sensitive on issues such as family, job stability, politics, governance, science, and everything logical.

Some stereotypes are, that they are insensitive, unorganized, lazy, unintelligent, egotistical, ect. Just watch some TV commercials and you'll see all the stereotypes that are placed on men. And as awful as it sounds male bashing is becoming popular in our society. It really isn't fair, if all these stereotypes were placed on women there would be outrageous protesting.

well sweetheart i will definitely agree that there are stereotypes and prejudices against men. First of all, men are now considered all dogs by women thats been hurt by them. okay i admit some my fella brotheren out there are dogs, mean, hurtful and non caring or as some love to say playas. well that may be true but now all men are, if women see a man and he looks good and is single here first thought is not great i found a single beautiful man, but great i might be another trophy on his case. Your perception on men most times are right, i agree. But then there are those times when one of the great ones approach you, and then you start to doubt there are any left. Your just setting yourself up for failure. when a man gets hurt by a woman and he is sulking, hurting, grieving over her, he is considered soft, not a man, double standard. Open your eyes women of the world please see that all mean arent dogs, all men arent playas and all men are scared of love, and committment

Yes! Such as it's rare that you see a male nurse or a stay at home father. If they are some they get made fun of such as your wife wears the patns in the family she is the bread winner, etc...
