I seriously doubt that you can prove harassment in the first place, however...

Race in and of itself is not a valid reason for any Peace Officer to stop and detain a subject for questioning. I believe the media has helped a great deal to continue the idea that the police "Harass" black people. I'm 99.9% sure that if you looked at any actual statistical data you'd find that most often the person stopped is black because they are in a more impoverished, crime ridden section of the city. I know from personal experience that if you fit the profile, Black white or other, you WILL get stopped and that is the way it should be.

Check out the book "Loosing the Race" and read about how Black Americans like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have undone 40 years of civil rights struggles by championing any issue that remotely smacks of racism. It is very enlightening to read a book written by a Black American that says his own people have internalized the idea of being harassed to the point where they raise their children to expect to be mistreated by society. In essence, they raise them believing they are victims and can never be anything else.

It is called racial profiling---

Also, the majority of time(not all times) the black man is doing something that he should not be doing!

I worked in a maximum security prison for 10 years! 75% of the population was black! The majority were locked up for black on black crime or trying to make that easy dollar!

Now, the police did not make these black boys go out and sell drugs or shoot the kid down the street for some dumb reason! The police did not make these children lay out of school and then lay out all night selling dope to their neighbor's child!

We as black people have to stop making excuses for the troubles that we bring to ourself!

I know there are times when black children are harrassed by the police--but sometimes .....we are at fault! Parents need to stand-up and take better control of their children and stop blaming everyone else for what they do wrong!

It's not just blacks. It also depends on where you live. Latinos are also a target of police violence. They look at some people and assume they are in a gang of some sort. I have Latino friends who are bald and they are constantly harassed because they look like they could be in a gang.

It has to do with stereotyping. People who are not white sometimes are shown in a different way...Like they always do bad things.

Cops are no different from regular people. They just have the power to act. Racism and stereotyping have been going on for generations. We just have to live our lives and get over it.

I doubt if alot of mexicans would agree with you, or even whites in certain areas.

And normally it is not harrassment but investigation seen as harrassment. far too many blacks are still listing to the jargon of people like Jessie Jackson and think they are still victims and don't want to take responsiblity for thier actions.

Then why are there so many trailer park trash white folks on the tv show Cops?

Sure, there is a lot of harrassment from the Cops and it all depends on the Cop and who they hate or don't understand - be it black; hispanic; long-haired hippie doper. Its all about perception.

This is a sign of discrimination. Black people are considered to be low class people. They are the race that commits the most crimes.

Stereotyping.....of course though, look and the crime rates and who commits them. Sometimes is brought on by the race committing the crime....not necessarily blacks

They aren't. Just because they commit more crimes isn't the cops' fault. And I'm not being racist, it's a statistical fact.
