Yes, I believe it is, but not in the way you might think. Today white people face the institutionalized discrimination of affirmative action. The country used to be 90% white (in the 50s) but now we're being overrun by millions of third world immigrants -- within 50 years and maybe less white people will be a minority in a country we founded (and yes we did found this country, all of the Founding Fathers were white) And with the stigma of "racism" we're not allowed to say anything about it because that would be hopelessly racist. White people are being asked to accept our own dispossession, the balkanization of our country and our future minority status.

Yes, of course it is!!! this is America that we're talking about, and yet with so much information out there that is still one of America's biggest problems among other things. Look at how the Katrina victims have been treated here recently. Look at the underprivileged school systems in America, racism just changes forms but it is still the same no matter what race you are.

Yes, but not in the way most people think. We have reverse racism in most cultures. We give special grants and accomidations for wrongs commited over fifty years ago. If you are an immigrant or ethnically diversed, even if no wongs have been done to you specifically you can get loans, scholorships, job availability and more. I believe that we are crippling American's that are of non- white by pandering to them and treating them like they are children unable to cope with the struggles of reality. We continually oppress women by setting double standards in many aspects of life. Equal means equal! However, most people want special treatment, and as long as we give hand-outs racism and sexism will be a continuous problem.

Racism is not just a problem in this country but pretty much everywhere, and I think it always will be. Human nature tells us we need to have someone to feel superior over. Thats just the way it is. Does not make it okay, but oh well.

Oh well lets see. Does the sun rise and set everyday? I think that it does. We are a melting pot of animosity, stereo types, and fear of all things different. For being the most diverse county on the planet were a bunch of ignorant so and so's. If we were able to unite as Americans and drop the pre-fix we may be a lot stronger.

Absolutely. A co-worker of mine was telling me about not being able to go to a high-end department store without being followed. Apparently they thought she might steal something. This is an attractive, professional woman with more class and morals than probably most of the women that work in those stores, but yet because she is black, she was closely watched. Amazing.

In many forms I believe it is. Society in general seems to have certain ideas of how people are. We have different cultures, languages ways of life and yet how many actually take the time to understand. I think many of the problems come out of ignorance or assumption we classify people and judge before finding out. When we truly take to get to know people or perhaps understand those who seem to us different we may discover that really we are not all that different. I wish that people wouldn't go around wearing broken glasses but that they might fix the chips and see people as they really are and not what we think.

I'm sure some form of classic racism still exists, but more so, I think the problem today is selfism. Everyone is all about themselves or those like them in the sense of personality. In todays world, it's not so much the color of one's skin to evokes predjudice in people, but lifestyle, enviroment, education, etc.
