I couldn't exactly answer that, but every time your cat goes on the carpet spray them with water. This method will give them the picture, if I go on the carpet I get sprayed.

I found this @ walmart. It cost about 4 bucks. It is the best four dollars I have spent. My cat had the habit of going in the corner in the living room. With the help of the spray she now uses the pan, instead of stinking up the living room.

Saran or perhaps a topical nerve agent is the best. Although in a pinch, mustard gas applied liberally around the nostrils will do the trick....Freakin' cat will never poop or pee again on the carpet, I garauntee...

If they have already marked the carpet, chances are there is nothing unless you replace that section or the whole thing. You can try and clean it but it seeps in to the pad. I had to throw out my area rug because my dog thought it was the great outdoors. I haven't had any problems since then. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is.

I hear that if you take lemon juice and put it in a spray bottle and spray it in the areas that they pee the most and then spray the lemon juice on the cats face, they will not pee there again cause cats, and dogs, hate the smell and taste of lemon juice.

Get a product called Urine-Off from the internet. Treat all areas the cat goes and cover the whole area with aluminium foil, cats hate to walk on it.

Spot Shot. If your cats are peeing or pooping on the floor they may be trying to tell you something. Either thier litter box is too dirty or they are sick. I would watch them closely. If they do it more take them/him/her to a vet. That is what happened to mine and she had a blatter infection. It was the only way for her to tell me. The vet said that cats will urinate when they need to tell you something is wrong....interesting huh?
