My fiancee is 6'0 and weighs 128 pounds, he's 30 pounds under weight according to height-weight charts. We live in a small efficiency apartment without a kitchen so we eat at restaurants everyday. I thought that people gained more weight when they ate out alot. Not him...what can I do to put some weight on him?

As he ages his metabolic rate will decline, don't worry about it.

You must eat more calories than you burn!

That or you can stuff him full of bread, pasta, and beer, that always works!

Protein will only improve muscle mass, it is the last thing to get stored as fat.

A high protein diet may even make him lose more.

Is he healthy though? Has he gone to a doctor to make sure that everything is alright? Perhaps he has a metabolism issue that prevents him from gaining easily. I would get him to see a GP to make sure that nothing is wrong, and perhaps they could schedule him with a nutritionist. I think it's much more difficult to gain weight than it is to lose it, simply because you want to be healthy in going about it. You don't want him to be eating donuts and cheeseburgers all day (although some guys would LOVE to do that!). Of course, as mentioned, there are many protein shakes on the market that could help out. He could also start lifting weights. That's a good way to gain weight, and have nice muscles too (of course, that would be a bonus for you!).

He may have an extremely high metabolism! I have a friend who is around 6'0" and weighs about 130 lbs. The boy eats like crazy and never gains any weight! He doesn't exercise and he isn't very active... He's just naturally thin! I wish I could be that way!

Creatine. I gained 20 lbs in like a month i promise. He has to take it with like Grape Juice or Apple Juice, not the fruit drink though the real thing like Welch's. Ok he can take MRP's(Meal Replacements) which are protein shakes. He needs to eat PB & J sandwiches, and do at least 50 pushups a night to start with. He needs to go to Bally's for 2 weeks for free. Email me if you need help, im going through the same thing but im not as bad as him.

My husband is the same way. He loves sweets and cookies and all that stuff thats not good for you, yet he weighs about 125 and about 5'8". He's always moving though, weither its walking, running, he never gains any weight. I'm sure it will catch up to him soon enough, so I wouldn't worry about putting any weight on him.

Keep on making healthy food choices, and remind him to be grateful he has a high metabolism. It will slow down eventually, and when it does, he'll be glad he made good food choices, because it will make getting old a lot easier. Skinny people die from high cholesterol, too.
