Many people have pre-conceived expectations of where there soul goes after they die. I presume that many of these expectations are taught, formal religion, for example. It is fascinating that we can have answers for something that happens after we die, but really don't have any idea where we came from. Seems to be a lack of logic in this reasoning.

Our souls come from G-d. When it says we are created in his image it isn't talking about appearance. Our souls come from him and return to him.

The book of Genesis states, "Let US make man". There were already people here when Adam came on the scene. Adam represents one group of people not the first man on the planet. Keep in mind what book the Bible is derived from...
In regards to souls, do not be fooled into believing every being on this planet has a soul. There are hundreds of thousands of souless beings. Everyone has a spirit but not everyone was blessed with soul. We know who the soulful beings are and who the souless beings are.

The soul is planted in the human spirit like a seed is sown in the garden. The seeds (souls) are in God's garden and when they blossom that is where they show their best.
