depends on why you're not fond of them. kill 'em with kindness - just don't invite them over! ;-)

The problem sounds like it's with you, you didn't say they are not fond of you.
Why are you not fond of them?
Did they trespass you, your family etc. or is it something small like the way they look, the car they drive, they don't cut their grass, they have attitudes, etc? I had a neighbor that I thought was very rude, and one day I just asked how she was doing, hoping she would n't snap of course. She explained to me her hardships in losing her husband and children in a car accident, she had no other family. She was very alone in a city she knew nothing about. When she finished telling me her story, I started stopping after work when I would see her out just to make sure she was ok. Find out what is going on with your neighbor. You may have a Jeffery Dalmer. Don't shut them out, get involved. They just might need you.

The best way to deal with neighbors that you are not fond of is to stay away from them. As long as they don't do anything to bother you, then just avoid them totally.

well, when they are outside mowing the lawn or coming home from work I would go out and start cleaning my shotgun on the front porch- where they can see me. When they stop dead in their tracks and give that deer in the headlights look I would smile and wave all cheery like. "hey ya'all" But that is what I would do.

Seroiusly, know them well enough to be able to have them approach you if there is a problem, or if you have a problem and need assistance. Keep in mind civility and be polite with them, and you can expect the same in return, you don't have to like them or invite them over for dinner or anything.

Good luck with this.

Well, it depends on the situation. I had a neighbor once whose cat would come in my backyard and meow all night and crap all over. I tried to tal to her about it nice, and nothing. So, one day I put on double latex gloves on each hand, put all the poop in a plastic bag and dumped it over the fence. It never happened again. I love cats, by the way, but I keep mine inside only.

You'll never know when you'll need them, so for education's sake try and be nice and remember that maybe there are peolpe out there who are not fond of you. How would you like them to treat you?

Don't look at them. Every time I see my neighbor I try to look busy. Or I sit in my car doing "something" until they go away. If I didn't I would be stuck talking to them for hours about his doctors appointment and how his grandchildren don't come and see him. Back in his days blah blah blah. I know he has told me every story.

Try a visualization of colour to ease your thoughts and theirs:

red - energy = anger, disagreement, etc.
white - spirit = spirituality
pink - combining = love
