I installed The Sims 2.But I can't install DirectX 9.0.And the game needs DirectX 9.0.What can I do?

When I'm trying to install it,it goes so fast,in one second!and then,I click Finish button,so,I come out of install DirectX 9.0.I used this CD for my Aunt's computer too.But no problem,Tell me what can I do?(say a way except Downloading from internet or buying a DirectX 9.0 CD)

update your video drivers on your computer. That is after you make sure your hardware is direct x 9 capable.

a. Right-click on the The Sims 2 game and left-click on Properties. You can do this either on the game's shortcut on the desktop or on the game's entry in the Start menu.

b. Add a space and -w to the end of the Target field, so that it looks like this: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" -w

Note: The actual path may vary depending on where the game was installed. Make sure that the -w goes outside the quotation marks and that there is a space between the last quotation mark and the -w.

c. Click OK.

there are two ways for this problem -

firstly check ur direct x diagonistic tools , for tht jus go to Run , their type dxdiag > go to display n if 9.0 is available n disabled get it enable or if it is not their do this :-

1) Jus get the directx 9.0 frm www.microsoft.com
2) jus check ur game cd in one of those cd , a option to install directx9.0 will be given then jus get it download .

what to do is this is start-->run--> type in dxdaig
and this will check, to see if direct x is installed. and run all the tests.. if this fails yes u would need to download, directx u can get this from the microsoft site.

I ran into the identical trouble. It way you have to either do certainly one of two things. Both get a new graphics card of Directx 9.0c or greater, or down load Nvidea off of the web. Good luck together with your new sport!!!!!
