The desktop software is fully featured and includes data browsing, report creation, and the use of local data sources, such as spreadsheets. This product did not get continued into version Xi All Xi products are served via a browser. In V6 and before Administrator products such as designer and supervisor were also installed from this desktop CD.

Infoview is a portal to Business Objects reports that are provided to Infoview users for execution via a webserver. The infoview software, webserver software and database connectivity software run on a server. The users only need a web browser on their pc. Infoview also provides access to the WebIntelligence software, although you did not ask about that.
