my cat regularly catches wild rabbits and has on occasion caught ones which really don't look healthy. Can she catch myxamatosis from them?

No..... Absolutely and definately not. I had an uncle that died from it once though.
What happened was he ate four toasted sandwiches in a pub in one afternoon. One was cheese, one was bacon, one was ham, and the last was strawberry jam. The post mortem said he had died from mixinghistoasties!!

Myxomatosis only affects rabbits. Your cat or dog cannot be affected by a sick rabbit, not even if they have it in their mouth or eat it.
But your cat can catch fleas, ticks and tapeworm so make sure she is wormed and de-flead regularly.

It's a man made disease to cull the rabbit populating only. If you were to have a pet rabbit you can get an vaccination for it to keep it safe

Wow, that is a great Radiohead song! But seriously, please try to keep your cat indoors if at all possible. Indoor cats have longer life spans, are healthier overall, and don't wreak havoc on the ecosystem of wild animals.

myxamatosis is a created disease that was introduced to cut down the huge numbers of rabbits in Australia, it was then introduced to the UK. It is a disease only of rabbits.

Im not sure but my cat has got a few moles and such that didnt look very good. she never go sick. If she starts acting funny, take her to an animal hospital right away.

No, this is a disease that affects rabbits. It is unlikely that it can be transferred between species.
