Yes the banana does taste better with speckles on them. But I like them cover in chocolate speckles better.

Yes! That is the point when they are best to eat and are truly ripe. Did you know that ripe bananas emit ethelyne gas and can be used to ripen other fruits more quickly? If you have some fruit that isn't quite ripe place it in a paper bag with a banana and check it in about 6 hours!

No, I prefer bananas when they are still ever-so-slightly green. Once they start to speckle they are too sweet for me.

Yes you should eat them when they are speckled as they are then ripe. Green bananas are not ripe and can give you indigestion

I disagree. I like them when they are still firm, right before the brown speckles.

Once they have brown I will only use them for banana bread

No....I like my bananas without any brown spots.

But I think its great that you like the brown spots. My mom always used to say I was fussy.

Did you know that bananas contain a natural anti-depressant?
(Whether or not they have brown spots)

I actually used to like them fairly green. Gross, I know, to most people. But when I was pregnant with my oldest they made me really sick. I thought it was a pregnancy glitch. But it never went away. I get an upset stomach anytime I eat raw bananas now.

Usually they do because they are ripe at that point. Green bananas aren't and taste a little... well... green :) Easier to digest as well.
