There is this yahoo group that I'm a part of called freecycle. I'm not sure if there is one in your area (I live in New York), but you can look it up. The people in that group are very nice, and give away quality items, I have received a dish set, and some furniture. (I just moved into my first apartment as well) The best part is that everything listed on freecycle must be absolutely free!! So just go to yahoo groups and look up "freecycle Atlanta" and see if there is one. Best of luck with your apartment! =)

Try craigslist.org if you are on a budget. You can get thinkgs quite inexpensively. Or check out the Salvation Army or garage sales. If you are looking for new items, there is always IKEA.
